Beth Howard has worked in the healthcare insurance industry for more than 20 years, spending twelve years as medical bill review and billing expert. She is the current owner and CEO of CostFirst Corp., which provides lien and bill review services. She has served as a medical bill review expert witness before a grand jury and jury settings in criminal courts for medical fraud and abuse. She currently sits in an IBR (independent bill review) panel selection candidate for workers’ compensation judges.

Ms. Howard is a certified professional coder through American Academy of Professional Coders and is ICD-10-CM proficient. She is a standing member of National Alliance of Medical Auditing Specialist (NAMAS) and American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Ms. Howard has provided course training to California Department of Insurance Enforcement Branch (CDI), NCFIA-Anti Fraud Alliance, California Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorneys’ Association (CWCDAA), third party administrators, brokers/agents for self-insured employers, and defense firms.
